Uncrowded surf spots in Bali
Surf quieter
waves in Bali
Escape the busy lineups and surf spots selected daily based on conditions, tides,
and your level.
Better waves. Less crowds. More progression.
At Pelan Pelan, we focus on creating a more relaxed and enjoyable surf experience away from the busiest lineups. Instead of surfing crowded beaches every day, we often take guests to quieter surf spots around Canggu, Kedungu, Yeh Gangga, Bali’s west coast, and surrounding areas depending on the conditions and the level of the group.
Our experienced local surf guides carefully choose the best surf spot each day based on tides, wind, swell, crowd levels, and guest experience.
This flexibility allows beginners and intermediate surfers to improve faster while feeling safer and more comfortable in the water.
Whether you are learning the basics or working on your turns and positioning, surfing less crowded waves creates the perfect environment to build confidence and progress during your surf retreat in Bali.

Why we avoid crowded surf spots
Crowded surf spots can feel overwhelming, especially for beginner and beginner-intermediate surfers. Surfing quieter waves gives guests more space to practice take-offs, positioning, paddling, and turning without constantly competing for waves.
With smaller groups and more personal coaching, our surf guides can focus more on each guest individually while creating a calmer and more enjoyable atmosphere in the water.
Many guests tell us that surfing quieter beaches becomes one of the highlights of their retreat experience in Bali.

Surf spots selected for your level
Bali offers a wide variety of surf spots for beginners and intermediate surfers.
Depending on the conditions, we visit different beaches and waves that are best suited to the level of the group and the daily surf forecast.
We often surf:
- Beach breaks where complete beginners can safely stand and walk in the water
- Long right-hand waves perfect for regular surfers
- A variety of fun left-hand waves around Bali’s west coast
- Quieter surf spots away from busy Canggu lineups
- Surf beaches surrounded by rice fields, cliffs, and tropical nature
Our goal is always to create the best possible conditions for progression, confidence, and fun in the water.

Local knowledge makes the difference
Our local Balinese surf guides know the tides, winds, swell directions, and conditions of Bali’s surf spots in detail. Instead of following the crowds, we focus on finding the best conditions for each session and each guest level.
With small groups, daily coaching, video analysis, and carefully selected surf spots, we create a more personal surf experience designed around progression, safety, and enjoyment.
