1. Stretch all your muscles after surfing
As you are using your whole body to surf, proper recovery post-surfing requires you to stretch all your muscles. We have yoga classes to help you avoid any kind of pain and help reduce tightness, focus on stretching your hamstrings, spine, shoulders and triceps.
2. Rehydrate well
By rehydrating, we do not mean chugging a bottle of ice-cold beer, although it might be really tempting. Right after surfing, the best beverage to indulge in is a bottle of mineral water or a fresh coconut. Coconuts have natural electrolytes for hydration, and that’s what Pelan Pelan Bali normally get at the beach or at “pelan pelan after surfing”.
3. Eat well
After draining so much energy during a surfing session, the best way to restore and build your muscles is by consuming the right nutrients. Eat proteins such as fish, lean beef and eggs to aid muscle recovery. Choose natural carbohydrates to boost yourself with some quick energy. Have lunch at Pelan Pelan Bali, our home cook will prepare all the nutrition in your fresh, Indonesian lunch.
4. Sleep enough
After an intense day of surfing, your body will need to rest. Make sure you have proper sleep of at least 8 hours so your body can recover well. At Pelan Pelan Bali mostly guests go to bed early, since it’s getting dark around 7 pm in Bali and after having a nice dinner in or out in one of the nice restaurants in Canggu its time to sleep.
Now that you know what to do after a surfing session, we welcome you to join our surf retreat at Pelan Pelan Bali.
