Visa Requirements
Before you travel, check which type of visa you need based on your nationality:
Visa-Free Entry
If you’re from one of these countries, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, or Timor-Leste, you can enter Bali without a visa for up to 30 days. This stay is non-extendable.
Visa on Arrival (VoA)
Citizens from around 86-97 countries (including Australia, the United States, the UK, most of Europe, and Canada) can get a Visa on Arrival (VoA).
- Cost: IDR 500,000 (about USD 35)
- Valid for: 30 days and can be extended once for another 30 days
- How to apply: At the airport in Bali or online through the e-VoA system before your trip
- You’ll need:
- A passport valid for at least 6 months
- A return or onward ticket
- Enough funds for your stay (rarely checked but recommended)
E-Visa (B211A)
If you’re not eligible for visa-free entry or VoA, you can apply for an electronic visa (B211A) before arriving. This is common for travelers from countries outside the usual tourist lists or those staying longer for business or special visits.
Passport Validity
Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date you enter Indonesia. Make sure it’s not damaged or altered, as this can lead to denied entry.
Bali Tourism Levy
As of 2025, international visitors are required to pay a Bali Tourism Fee of IDR 150,000 (around USD 10). Here’s how it works:
- Who must pay: All international travelers
- Who is exempt: Travelers from ASEAN countries
- How to pay: You can pay online before your flight or at the airport on arrival.
- Keep your payment receipt, as you may need to show it to immigration officials.
Health and Vaccination Requirements
Traveling to Bali is now easier when it comes to health rules, but there are still a few things you should know.
COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing
- No vaccination proof is required to enter Bali.
- No PCR test is needed unless your airline asks for it.
- Still, it’s a good idea to be fully vaccinated, especially if you’re at risk for severe illness.
SATUSEHAT Health Pass (Mandatory)
To strengthen global health protection, all travelers to Indonesia must fill out the SATUSEHAT Health Pass before boarding their flight. This became a requirement due to global concerns about Mpox (Monkeypox).
- You must complete the form online and get a QR code to show when you arrive.
- All travelers, including children, must register (parents can help fill it out for kids).
- You’ll also need to register through the SATUSEHAT App and complete the Indonesia e-HAC (Electronic Health Alert Card).
Other Health Tips
- Watch out for Bali Belly (traveler’s diarrhea). Stay safe by:
- Drinking only bottled or filtered water
- Avoiding raw street food
- Wash your hands or use sanitizer regularly.
- Eating at clean, trusted places like cafes or restaurants with good reviews
- If you get sick or need help, dial 112 for emergencies. Some reliable hospitals include Sanglah, Bali International Hospital, BIMC, and Siloam.
- Always carry your passport and travel insurance details when going out.
Other Entry Requirements
To make your trip smoother, make sure you have these important documents:
- Return or Onward Ticket: Immigration and airlines often ask for proof that you’re leaving Indonesia after your trip.
- Customs Declaration: Complete the electronic customs form (E-CD) online within 72 hours before arrival. You’ll get a QR code to scan after you collect your bags.
- Autogate Registration (Optional): You can pre-register for Bali’s Autogate system to make immigration faster, especially if you’re a frequent traveler.
